Mostanában ismét fellángoltak az indulatok az izraeli-palesztin konfliktus körül, amelyért a média sokszor Izraelt teszi felelőssé. Noa Tishby könyve bevallottan védőbeszéd hazája érdekében, de roppant alapos és meggyőző védőbeszéd, közérthető, könnyen olvasható formában. Ha hallottál, olvastál olyan állításokat, hogy Izrael „gyarmatosító, etnikai tisztogató apartheid állam”, akkor talán érdemes elolvasni ezt a könyvet is az egyensúly kedvéért. Tishby tételesen válaszol minden vádra, bemutatja a konfliktus történelmi, politikai, vallási hátterét, s emellett a cionista államalapítók (nem, a „cionista” nem szitokszó – hogy pontosan mit is takar ez a kifejezés, arról is olvashatunk a könyvben) és a mai Izrael életébe is betekintést nyújt, időnként saját családja személyes példáin keresztül. Nem vagyok sem zsidó, sem izraeli, de csak ajánlani tudom a könyvet mindenkinek, aki szeretné ezt a konfliktust az internetes mémeknél, Facebook kommenteknél és sajtócikkeknél egy kicsit mélyebben megérteni.
