Lelkem, Inés, borzasztóan izgalmas életutad volt, de sajnos borzasztóan unalmasan írtad meg. Úgyhogy a végefelé már inkább csak pörgettem az oldalakat, hogy legyen már vége. Félbehagyni nem mertem, mert hátha mégis izgalmas lesz, de sajnos nem lett.

A diktálós alaphelyzet amúgy tetszett volna, de túl sok volt a kitekintés olyan helyzetekre, amikben Inés nem volt jelen, csak elképzelte őket, és ez egy kicsit megölte a memoár lényegét – mármint minek leírni hosszú oldalakon keresztül, tök részletesen egy indián szertartást, amin részt sem vett? Sőt, az sem derült ki, hogy hallott róla valakitől, és tényleg megtörtént az esemény vagy csak a képzelete szüleménye volt… Meg hát értem én, hogy hazafiasság és korszellem, de rosszul vagyok a konkvisztádorok dicsőítésétől, na, bevallom őszintén. Úgyhogy ez a sztori most elment mellettem, de majd olvasok valami mást is Allendétől, hátha akkor megbarátkozunk.
