Nem gyenge Tarantino-utánérzés a Vérvörös vidékből megismert alternatív Vadnyugaton, Colt helyett íjjal és karddal; a főszerepben ismét Szende. Tarantinótól az f betűs szó gyakori használatát nem feltétlenül kellett volna átvenni, de az önsorsrontásán kesergő főhős ismét kijózanítóan valósághű díszletek között zuhan bele a nagy nihilbe.
Abercrombie továbbra is a legmagasabb színvonalon alkotó fantasy-szerző, akitől valaha is olvastam, ha ez csupán egy négycsillagos szösszenet is. Kellemesen véres és képszerű, az irdatlan vöröslő pusztulat felett meg szájharmonika-szót sodor a szél. Ha csak az olvasó fejében is.
