Hiába nőttem már ki a gyerekkönyvekből, Chris Colfer ezt mindig feledtetni tudja velem, és képes elérni, hogy úgy izguljak a szereplőkért, mintha ismét 10 éves lennék.
Érdekes világot teremtett meg, amelyben a lányoknak tilos olvasni, gondolkodni, politizálni, és egyetlen hibáért akár örök rabságra is ítélhetik őket. Egy ilyen világba született Brystal, aki ellenszegült a parancsoknak, és ez vezetett egy lenyűgöző történet kezdetéhez. Minden megvan benne, amely egy jó könyvhöz kell: izgalmas kalandok, természetfeletti lények, kihívások, barátságok születése, árulás és csalódás, remény és hit.
Bevallom, nem olvastam utána nagyon a könyvnek, így meglepett, hogy ez tulajdonképpen a Land of Stories előzménye, és a spoiler gyerekkorát ismerhetjük meg benne. Emiatt, hogy a két sorozat kapcsolódik, csak még jobban a szívemhez nőtt.
