„You destroyed everything I loved. You destroyed me that day, Qui-Gon. Yet I was reborn. Stronger, wiser. I have surpassed you.”
―Xanatos, to Qui-Gon Jinn

Xanatos was a Human male failed Jedi and the second Padawan of Qui-Gon Jinn, who earlier had trained a young Jedi named Feemor. He was the son of Telosian Governor Crion, the brother of Nason and fathered a boy named Granta with Tura Omega.

– Yoda! – szinte köpte a nevet. – Az a kis térdig érő troli! Azt hiszi, hatalma van. Még csak nem is álmodhat annak az Erőnek a tizedéről sem, amit én ismerek!

There were so many times on missions that he did not know whom to trust. Qui-Gon seemed to have the gift to see beyond the surface into feelings and motivations that Obi-Wan missed. Qui-Gon never seemed to make a mistake. Only with his former apprentice, Xanatos, had he extended trust too far and met disaster. Xanatos was dead now. Obi-Wan imagined that one such miscalculation was enough for one lifetime. If he watched and learned from Qui-Gon, maybe he could avoid mistakes such as that in the future.

Obi-Wan also felt a bit stung. The trip to Ilum was important to him, and he hadn't expected his Master's thoughts to dwell on Xanatos. He almost vished that Qui-Gon's memory of the failed apprentice had dissolved along with Xanatos himself on Telos IV, but he immediately buried the thought and banished it from his mind. Such a line of thinking could only lead to the dark side – Obi-Wan didn't need Master Yoda, Qui-Gon, or anyone else to remind him of that.
