Aragorn személy
Aragorn fontos szereplő J. R. R. Tolkien kitalált világában, a szerző leghíresebb regényében, a Gyűrűk Urában. Neve formálisan II. Aragorn, az Északi Dúnadánok tizenhatodik vezére, Elendil egyenes ági leszármazottja és Isildur örököse, a gondori trón várományosa.
Nevei és címe:
Születési neve II. Aragorn, melyet Aravir fia, I. Aragorn nevű ősére emlékezve kapott.
Ahogy Faramir mondta a koronázás előtt:
„Ő itt Arathorn fia Aragorn, az arnori dúnadánok törzsének feje, Nyugat Seregének kapitánya, Észak Csillagának viselője, az Újrakovácsolt Kard birtokosa, csatában győzedelmes, a keze gyógyító kéz, ő a Tündekő, a Númenorból való Elendil fia, Isildur utódának, Valandilnak házából való Elessar.”
Ő lett a Negyedkorban Gondort uraló Telcontar Ház megalapítója, az Újraegyesített Királyság első Nagykirálya: Elessar Telcontar király, ami quenya nyelven annyit jelent, hogy Tündekő Vándor.

Hol vannak a dúnadanok, Elessar, Elessar?
Rokonságod messze, mondd, miért jár?
Az óra közel, s megjő az Elveszett;
A Szürke Társaság már Északról közeleg.
De ahol jársz majd, az ösvény sötét:
A Tenger útját a Halál lesi rég.

'We shall not turn back here. Yet I am weary.' He gazed back along the way that they had coma towards the night gathering in the East. 'There is something strange at work in this land. I distrust the silence. I distrust even the pale Moon. The stars are faint; and I am weary as i have seldom been before, weary as no Ranger should be with a clear trail to follow. There is some will that lends speed to our foes and sets an unseen barrier before us: a weariness that is in the heart more than in the limb.'
Book Two, Chapter 2 - The riders of Rohan
Gondor! Gondor, between the Mountains and the Sea!
West Wind blew there; the light upon the Silver Tree
Fell like bright rain in gardens of Kings of old.
O proud Walls! White towers! O winged crown and throne of gold!
Or West Wind blow again between the Mountains and the Sea!
Book Two, Chapter 2 - The riders of Rohan
'Now let us take our ease here for a little!' said Aragorn. 'We will sit on the edge of ruin and talk, as Gandalf says, while he is busy elsewhere. I feel a weariness such as I have seldom felt before.' He wrapped his grey cloak about him, hiding his mail-shirt, and stretched out his long
legs. Then he lay back and sent from his lips a thin stream of smoke.
'Look!' said Pippin. 'Strider the Ranger has come back!'
'He has never been away,' said Aragorn. 'I am Strider and Dúnadan too, and I belong both to Gondor and the North.'
